Independent and Insightful Analysis of the Asian Economic and Political Environment

DSGAsia was founded in 1999 by Simon Ogus, widely recognised as one of the region's top economists over the last decade and one of the few who accurately predicted the Asian economic and financial crisis. DSGAsia provides independent, strategic analysis and risk assessments of the economic and political environment in the major countries of Asia - primarily Japan, Greater China, Korea, ASEAN and the Indian subcontinent. The company works with financial and non-financial corporate and government entities to assist them in the process of allocating their real economy and financial market investments in the region, and offers trading and macro risk management advice and strategies associated with managing these investments. It disseminates its advice and strategies via written reports, direct verbal and face-to-face client contact, group or individual presentations, and the co-ordination of meeting schedules with and introductions to government officials and other macro and market contacts of DSGAsia personnel.

DSGAsia's Levels of Service

DSGAsia seeks to work in partnership with a small group of core corporates and financial institutions. The company does not look to offer a universal analytical service in direct competition to the major investment banks - we focus on the strategic issues rather than the maintenance and the reportage. DSGAsia is also not in the business of directly offering trade execution or capital raising services. However, if clients prefer to pay for our services via 'soft dollar' payments and/or trading commissions, they can do so through our partner institution, Instinet. DSGAsia offers a range of service packages and pricing tailored to the unique requirements of each client. Clients are offered a choice of working with the company on either a project-specific, or a retainer basis. In the case of the former, the company will assess the feasibility, and the time and resource requirements for the commissioned research and/or advisory assignments, and quote accordingly. However, for clients who require a regular, ongoing service, DSGAsia offers two levels of access and pricing.

- Tier 1 Retainer Clients are entitled to regular calls and/or face-to-face meetings (depending on travel commitments) and are also be able to contact Simon Ogus, DSGAsia's CEO with specific questions/issues, 24 hours a day. In addition, Tier 1 Retainer Clients receive advance distribution of DSGAsia written reports and studies, have full access to the DSGAsia website with all its report libraries, statistical databases and charting resources, and receive first call and and/or email release on 'hot' issues in the markets and economies outside of DSGAsia normal publication and meeting schedules. Other parts of the service include the ability to commission special studies, to address group meetings at a client's behest, and the co-ordination of research trips. The number of Tier 1 Retainer Clients is strictly limited in order to maintain a personal dialogue and a high level of exclusivity of information dissemination.

- Tier 2 Retainer Clients receive a more limited level of service restricted to receipt of written research, a more limited number of meetings per annum, and website access. Other requests are subsequently dealt with and priced on a project-by-project basis. This level of service is generally unavailable to large financial institutions.

Outside of these retainer packages, DSGAsia offers a range of project-specific services including:

- Project Commissioning. DSGAsia undertakes specific, tailor-made research projects at the behest of clients. Such projects are either charged for on a time apportionment basis or on the basis of a pre-agreed flat fee which also covers travelling time and expenses. The client can choose to retain unique use of the results of such projects or after a mutually agreed period of time, they can then be made available for wider distribution.

- Speaking Engagements. DSGAsia offers on an ad hoc basis, a briefing service to non-retainer clients, and speeches to groups at conferences. Such engagements are either charged for on a time apportionment basis or on the basis of a pre-agreed flat fee which also covers travelling time and expenses.

- Research Visits. DSGAsia arranges for and accompanies clients to meetings with government officials and other macro contacts around the region. Such a service is either charged for on a time apportionment basis or on the basis of a pre-agreed flat fee which also covers travelling time and expenses.
